It’s the traditional Patriots’ Day matchup Monday morning at Fenway Park. This year, the Cleveland Guardians are the visiting team.
This will mark the first meeting of the season between the Red Sox and Guardians. The teams will play a four-game series at Fenway starting Monday and running through Thursday. Then, the Red Sox will travel to Cleveland next week for a three-game set in Cleveland.
For the first time since 2012, the Guardians are not managed by Terry Francona, but rather, Stephen Vogt, who’s in his first year managing in the big leagues.
The game, of course, ends in time for interested fans to walk to Kenmore Square or Back Bay and watch runners complete the annual Boston Marathon.
