The dream lives on for the Braintree American Little League squad who survived elimination on Saturday, and now turn right back around early in the morning on Sunday, Aug. 17 for another elimination matchup in the 2025 Little League World Series at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pa.
This game is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ESPN. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial. FuboTV offers up to $30 off your first month. SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available for streaming the game.
Sunday’s contest has such an early start time because of the Little League Classic taking place at night between teh Seattle Mariners and New York Mets.
But when it comes to the boys from Braintree, Mass., Saturday was a big day for them as they got a late start thanks to a weather delay, but then persevered to capture a 7-3 victory. The win means the club avoids the consolation bracket for at least one more game as they are right back in another elimination scenario going against the team from Bonney Lake, Wash.
Bonney Lake was one of the last teams to play its first game at Williamsport, and it was a 5-3 loss to a team from Las Vegas. Now it looks to bounce back against Braintree as both teams have their backs against the wall.
The winner of Sunday’s game gets an off day on Monday, but then returns to action on Tuesday, Aug. 19 to face the loser of the matchup between the Fairfield, Conn. squad representing the Metro Region and the Sioux Falls, S.D. team representing the Midwest Region that takes place on Monday, Aug. 18.
