The last game on the WNBA schedule for Wednesday, Aug. 13 takes place at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle where the Atlanta Dream are traveling to take on the Seattle Storm.
The game is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ESPN3. You can access ESPN3 by signing in to the ESPN app or a web browser with your own cable, satellite or internet provider information. Fans looking to watch this WNBA game can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial and provides access to ESPN3. FuboTV offers up to $30 off your first month and SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available and both also give access to ESPN3.
The Dream come into the day half a game behind the New York Liberty for the second best record in the league at 20-11. With both teams in action, there’s a shot Atlanta leaps them in the standings. The Storm are sitting in eighth, holding down the final playoff spot with the Los Angeles Sparks one game behind, the Washington Mystics one and a half games behind, and the Golden State Valkyries only a half game ahead in seventh. Seattle has fallen to 16-16 as the squad is stuck in a five-game losing streak that includes two losses to the Sparks.
The most recent contest with Los Angeles was a 94-91 defeat that saw the Storm fail to get a shot off in their final possession. Brittney Sykes led all scores with 27 points to go with four steals in her first game in Seattle’s starting lineup and second game with the team. Dominique Malonga had 20 and 11 rebounds from off the bench while Nneka Ogwumike had 15, 10 boards and four assists and Skylar Diggins had 17 points, six assists and two steals.
The Dream are in the exact opposite place thanks to a five-game winning streak that has them jockeying with the defending champions for positioning in the standings and the hopes of hosting a potential second round playoff matchup. Last time out they took down the Phoenix Mercury in the second stop of a six-game road trip that features a game in Toronto on Friday against the Storm where Atlanta will be listed as the home team.
