The 2025 MLB All-Star Break is here and as is the annual tradition at the break, the best home run hitters in the league gather, this time at Truist Park. in Atlanta for the Home Run Derby.
The Derby is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. The MLB leader in home runs, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, is one of the eight participants in this year’s event. His division rival, Brent Rooker of The Athletics, will also be taking hacks in a quest for the Derby crown.
The AL East and NL East also have two representatives in the Derby as the Tampa Bay Rays are sending Junior Caminero, the New York Yankees have Jazz Chisholm Jr. representing them, James Woods of the Washington Nationals is in the field, and the Atlanta Braves will have first baseman Matt Olson representing them as the host team, a replacement for Ronald Acuna Jr. Acuna was initially the first player to declare for the event.
The field is rounded out by Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins and Oneil Cruz of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
