How to stream The Open Championship free today: Second Round on Friday, July 18

The 2025 Open Championship continues on Friday, July 18 when the second round tees off at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland.

The second round is scheduled to start at 1:30 a.m. EDT and will be broadcast on Peacock before switching over to USA Network at 4 a.m. EDT. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial as well as up to $25 off your first month. SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available for streaming the round. Peacock has plans starting at $7.99 a month.

After the first round, five men were tied at the top of the leaderboard at 4-under. Jacob Skov Olesen, Haotong Li, Matt Fitzpatrick, Christian Bezuidenhout and Harris English all shot a 67 on Thursday to get ahead of the pack early.

There is a log jam in the middle of the pack, likely around where Friday’s cut will be, with 27 participants tied at 2-over after the first round, including Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and 2025 U.S. Open winner J.J. Spaun.

Brooks Koepka is in the back of the back at 4-over, tied for 114th, while Bryson DeChambeau is tied for 144th at 7-over. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy is 1-under and reigning champ Xander Schauffele is even going into Friday’s round.
