It is once again time for the biggest biennial international golf event to take place, and starting on Friday, sept. 26 and continuing through Sunday, Sept. 28, the 2025 Ryder Cup will be played at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, N.Y.
The first two days of Ryder Cup action are scheduled to start at 7 a.m. EDT and the third is set to begin at noon EDT. The first day will be broadcast on USA Network and the second and third days will be broadcast on NBC. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial. FuboTV offers up to $30 off your first month. SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available for streaming the tournament. Peacock has plans starting at $7.99 a month.
Europe won the 2023 edition of the tournament, 16.5-11.5, capturing the win for the eighth time since 2002 and the 12th time in 19 Ryder Cups since 1985. The United States still leads the all-time series, 27-15, but since the tournament expanded to all of Europe vs. the United States, Europe has won 12 times, the United States has won six, and in 1989 the two sides tied for the second and most recent time in Ryder Cup history.
Keegan Bradley is the captain for the U.S. Team that features Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, Sam Burns, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay and Harris English, who have all appeared in at least one Ryder Cup prior to this years. The team also features J.J. Spaun, Ben Griffin, Russell Henley and Cameron Young, who are all participating in their first Ryder Cup.
For the European Team, there is only one player making their Ryder Cup debut and it is Rasmus Højgaard, a 24-year-old from Denmark who is ranked No. 53 in the world. The other 11 golfers captain Luke Donald will be working with were all part of the winning team from 2023, led by Rory McIlroy who has helped Europe win four Ryder Cups in his seven previous appearances. No other golfer in this year’s field has more, and nobody on the United States has more than three (Thomas). Europe on the other hand also has Justin Rose, who has six Ryder Cups under his belt, and Jon Rahm, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton, who each have three prior appearances and outside of Fitzpatrick, they have all won at least twice. The rest of the team is Ludvig Åberg, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, Robert MacIntyre and Sepp Straka.
The first two days of competition revolve around team play and on Sunday, there are head-to-head singles matches to close out the tournament.
