NORTON — Three Massachusetts natives will look to have a stronger Day 2 and make their way up the leaderboard at the FM Championship.
Rockland’s Megan Khang, Shrewsbury’s Brittany Altomare and Westborough’s Alexa Pano all teed off on Thursday at TPC Boston.
Khang, an FM ambassador, finished with two birdies in her last three holes.
Pano finished 1-over and is tied for 73rd. Altomore shot 4-over and is tied for 133rd. Khang had the best day of the trio, shooting 1-under and tied for 47th.
This is Altomare’s first FM Championship. She missed the inaugural event in 2024 after he gave birth to her son, Wyatt, in March.
“I was sad to miss the first year last year, but I’m really excited to play this year and to see a bunch of family and friends and to play in front of a home crowd,” she told Golf Week. “So it should be fun.”
Round 2 begins Friday at 7:15 a.m.
