How a small Eastern Mass. college is slashing its debt to stay alive

As colleges are attempting to draw new students to their institutions, Montserrat College of Art in Beverly is aiming to do more with less.

“We’ve been having this conversation internally with our accreditors for the last nine months and we have a plan going forward that the institution will be smaller, it’ll be more intentional, more efficient. I like my future plans a lot,” said Montserrat’s president, Brian Pellinen.
