Here’s where to find 2 new Cookie Monstah bakeries this spring

Popular cookie and bake shop, The Cookie Monstah, is expanding from six locations to eight this spring — with the addition of shops in Newton and Reading.

In an email shared with MassLive, Ellen Gale, spokesperson for The Cookie Monstah, said that while the opening dates are not yet determined, guests can expect to see doors open sometime in late spring.

The Newton location will open at 849 Washington St. in Newtonville, and the Reading bakeshop will open at 50 Walkers Brook Drive.

“We have selected these new locations because they are great communities,” said Gale.

She added that her sister, Cookie Monstah owner Melissa Gale, visited both communities for “various events,” in The Cookie Monstah food truck and discovered “there are some Cookie Monstah fans here.”

Each location will offer gourmet cookies and dessert specialties such as The Cookie Monstah signature Cookie Monstah sandwiches – featuring two fresh-baked cookies and one ice cream flavor.

The Cookie Monstah is a fresh batch, from-scratch bakeshop.

It was founded in 2012 by Melissa Gale and started off as a food truck.

Today, The Cookie Monstah has expanded to include six food trucks and six (soon to be eight) bakeshops.

According to Ellen Gale, the original chocolate chunk cookie recipe was inherited from Melissa’s mother and has been “tweaked,” to become a Cookie Monstah staple.
