Here’s how to write a letter to Santa (and get a personalized response)

Christmas is right around the corner and if you are in the yuletide season make sure that you show it by writing a letter to a very popular person this time of year: Santa Claus.

Santa is taking letters for the next several weeks. So whether it’s a new shiny toy, a puppy or some new clothes make sure to write up that Christmas wishlist and send it to Old Kris Kringle.

Below for some ways to contact Santa Claus this year.

The USPS Operation Santa is a program run by the U.S. Postal Service that gets people to respond to letters written to Santa each year. The program started accepting letters to Santa on Sept. 18. Registration for people wishing to reply to these letters with presents from “Santa Claus” opened on Nov. 6 and closes on Dec. 18. Meanwhile, the final date to mail a letter is Dec. 11.

The letters will be sent to 123 Elf Road, North Pole, 8888 with a return address to ensure volunteers can return the letters with gifts.

You can also mail your child’s letter to “Santa Claus” to North Pole Postmark, Postmaster, 4141 PostMark Dr., Anchorage AK 99530-9998.

Additionally, The Santa Claus Museum is accepting letters. Every letter received by the Museum by Dec. 16, will receive a response, according to the museum’s website. People can mail their letters to Santa Claus PO Box 1 Santa Claus, IN 47579.

If snail mail isn’t your thing, try emailing Santa on his website, where you can get a reply immediately.

People can also email Santa Claus here, where they can tell Old Kris Kringle what gifts they want or whether they’ve been naughty or nice.

Try calling Santa on his hotline at: 605-313-4000.
