The next time you need a recovery meal from going out the night before, the staff at Banners Kitchen & Tap in Boston wants you to come through.
“We all know brunch is built for hangovers, or getting to the point where you need another brunch,” Executive Chef Chris Cahill said in an interview with MassLive last Thursday. “We’re keeping it simple and classic but just sort of really elevating the presentation and the flavor profile.”
Banners’ newly launched brunch menu features highlights such as the Hangover Burger, Waffle Breakfast Sandwich, Nutella-stuffed French Toast, Bloody Mary Box, 88-ounce mimosa towers and double Espresso martinis.

However, the star of the show is the Hanging Bacon that is torched table-side to give it a beautiful, golden color. The bacon can be paired with sliced peppers or bourbon maple shots to catch the delicious drips of pork fat.
“We’ll add on our hand-picked bottle of Makers at the bottom to kind of to catch all that goodness,” Moniz added. “Incredibly good for the heart.”
Capitalizing on their reputation as one of the “Best places to watch the Super Bowl in Massachusetts,” Banners launched its brunch menu the same day the New England Patriots were in Germany on Sunday, Nov. 12.
The 600-seat restaurant opened on Causeway Street at 8 a.m. ahead of the team’s 9:30 a.m. kickoff, which Moniz said was the perfect opportunity to create a fun atmosphere for people
Moving forward, brunch won’t start that early, but people can still catch a game on Banners’ 40-foot “Dream Screen,” which is the biggest in-restaurant LED TV screen on the East Coast.
Guests can also enjoy food and drinks inside the Topgolf Swing Suites while playing a game of virtual golf, hockey, football, baseball, zombie dodgeball or carnival games.
“A brunch program is always something that, you know, it’s an untapped market for us,” Moniz added. “We have a brilliant chef. We have a brilliant space, in my opinion.”
Banners will serve brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Those who stay past 3 p.m. can order off Banners’ lunch menu as well, which starts at about 1 p.m.
Reservations, which can be made on OpenTable, are encouraged. The staff suggests booking a table or coming as early as possible. The restaurant is located at 82 Causeway St. in Boston, right next to TD Garden.
