If you have not kept up with your calendar or did not go out in a costume on Saturday for a particular reason, Halloween this year is on a Tuesday.
For all the trick-or-treaters, night owls, party goers and other children of the night, it’s unfortunate dressing up and spending time with loved ones and friends only to have to jump into bed to catch enough sleep before work on Wednesday or any time Halloween lands on a weekday.
Although there is nothing to be done about where Halloween lands on the calendar this year, when can people expect to spend a long night out on Halloween? If it’s on a Saturday, with no work for some and no school for most children, get ready for a bit of a wait.
Saturday, Oct. 31, is scheduled three years away in 2026, according to timeanddate.com. The last time this happened was in 2020, during the start of one of the greater surges of the COVID-19 pandemic and before vaccines were available. The holiday landed on the next two days of the week in 2021 and 2022, Monday and Sunday, respectively. Next year, Halloween 2024 lands on a Thursday.
While a Halloween on Saturday feels like a long way away, an alternative is approaching even sooner. Halloween in 2025 lands on a Friday, according to timeanddate.com. Even if workers and children are sleepy after a long day at work or school, it’s a close alternative worth getting ready for.
