Grab your Stanley and get it stuffed with your favorite ice cream at one of two ice cream shops on the North Shore next week.
Holy Cow Ice Cream Cafe will host its second annual “Stuff Your Stanley” day on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Customers can bring any wide-mouthed reusable tumbler to the chain’s Gloucester or Peabody locations and have it filled with four scoops of ice cream for $12. Holy Cow will accept any tumbler under 40 ounces as long as they are cleaned ahead of time.
“People tend to go stir crazy towards the end of winters around here and are looking for reasons to mix things up a bit,” Mike Schifino, founder and creative director at Holy Cow Ice Cream Cafe, told MassLive.
“This is a great excuse for friends and family to bring their favorite tumblers in and get a variety of different scoops to enjoy,” he said.
Schifino said “Stuff Your Stanley” was started by Joey Boykin, owner of Golly G’s Ice Cream in Tennessee. After getting inspired by Boykin, Holy Cow ran its first “Stuff Your Stanley” day last March to great success.
“It was a huge success last year despite frozen rain and 20 mph winds, so it was a no brainer to decide to offer it again,” Schifino said. “Hopefully this year we’ll have a nice, warm, 40-degree day, fingers crossed.”
As an added bonus, Holy Cow in Gloucester will have an engraver onsite for those looking to personalize their Stanleys.
Holy Cow’s Gloucester store is located at 80 Pleasant St. while the Peabody location is at 86 Andover St.
The Peabody location is open from noon to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and the Gloucester store is open 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
