Former Patriots DE activated for Dolphins ahead of game at New England

Former Patriots defensive end Chase Winovich will be active for the Dolphins in Miami’s game at New England on Sunday night in Foxborough.

Winovich was elevated to the Dolphins’ active roster on Saturday in a series of moves announced by the team.

Winovich, who played collegiately at Michigan, was drafted by the Patriots in the third round (77th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played three seasons with New England and then spent 2022 with the Cleveland Browns.

For his career, Winovich has played in 53 games (11 starts) and has 12 career sacks.

Winovich signed with the Houston Texans in March for one-year, $2 million and was in their training camp, including facing the Patriots in Foxborough in the teams’ August 10 preseason game. He was released on August 29 and signed with the Dolphins’ practice squad on August 31.
