PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A Pasco County deputy is in critical condition after the patrol vehicle they were in overturned in floodwaters, WFTS reported.
The Oct. 18 incident occurred while the deputy and a Dade City Police officer were scouting floodwaters, according to the report.
According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, the Dade City officer managed to escape the submerged vehicle, but the deputy became trapped inside. Bystanders and the Dade City officer were able to rescue the deputy from the floodwaters.
The deputy was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition, according to the report. The incident remains under investigation.
