SPRINGFIELD — More than 40 major crashes have occurred in Hampden County so far this year, a number on track to exceed previous annual totals, officials say.
Two-thirds of the incidents handled by the Hampden district attorney’s Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit has responded to as of June 24 have resulted in death.
