Island Creek Oysters, the South Shore’s premiere oyster farm, is shipping up to Boston later this year.
The company is planning to open Island Creek Raw Bar, an outdoor seasonal restaurant in Seaport, by early summer.
While an official menu has yet to be released, diners can expect similar items offered at Island Creek’s raw bar in Duxbury including oysters, tinned fish and caviar.
“We are firm believers that New England’s greatest assets are its coastal communities, and Boston is the greatest example of that,” founder of Island Creek Oysters, Skip Bennett, said in a press release. “We’re thrilled to bring a taste of what we do in Duxbury to Seaport and we’re looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing familiar faces.”
Bennett has been running the famed oyster farm for 30 years. Island Creek harvests oysters daily and ships them to hundreds chefs around the country.
In addition to The Winsor House and raw bar in Duxbury, Island Creek has a shellfish market called The Shop in Portland, Maine and well as a cannery, the first craft seafood cannery to open the US in 86 years.
Island Creek is selling gift cards ahead of the Boston restaurant’s opening. The company is giving buyers 125% back on gift cards for a limited time. Details can be found online while updates on the opening can be found by following Island Creek Raw Bar Seaport on Instagram.
Island Creek Raw Bar will be located at 99 Autumn Lane in Seaport.
