Ex-Patriots kicker works out for division rival

Nick Folk is hoping to return for an 18th NFL season.

And this time, with his former team’s AFC East rival.

The veteran kicker worked out for the New York Jets on Monday. Folk spent seven season in the Meadowlands from from 2010 to 2016.

Folk spent the last two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. In 14 games in 2024, the 40-year-old was 21-of-22 on field goal attempts, a perfect 25-for-25 on extra point attempts and 6-for-6 from at least 50 yards out.

In two seasons with the Titans, Folk only missed two extra points.

Caden Davis and Harrison Mevis have struggled in the kicker competition during Jets camp thus far, but it’s unclear if Folk will sign a contract with his former team.

Folk was rather reliable for the Patriots during his four seasons in Foxborough, but lost his job to rookie Chad Ryland before he was traded to Tennessee. It didn’t exactly work out for New England, though, who released Ryland after his rookie season in 2023.

While Folk’s leg has lost steam over the years, he’s still accurate and could help fill a void for the Jets.
