The Shawmut Inn in Boston’s South End is sending diners home with tomorrow’s lunch for free when they come in for dinner on Sunday or Monday.
The Tomorrow’s Table menu lets guests customize a second meal, which changes every week, that gets packaged and sent home for lunch the next day.
The complimentary meal is meant to give back to the South End community, make patrons feel more valued and attract new customers.
“We wanted to bring back the sense of genuine care that defines hospitality,” owner Matt Sullivan said. “If someone takes the time to join us for dinner, we want them to feel remembered the next day.”
Sullivan launched Tomorrow’s Table on Oct. 19 “with the goal of giving something back to our guests who dine with us earlier in the week.”
Sullivan also owns Sullivan’s Public House in Charlestown and The Tap Room in Nantucket. He opened The Shawmut Inn in July 2024, which he described as “the ideal Boston neighborhood bistro.”

The restaurant specializes in house-elevated bistro classics, such as grilled octopus, lemon pappardelle with scallops and grilled lamb chops.
The Shawmut Inn serves dinner from 5-10 p.m. daily in its intimate dining room and bar that features artwork from local artist, Emily Shedlock.
So far, Tomorrow’s Table has proven to be a success for the cozy bistro.
“In just a few short weeks, we’ve noticed a real difference, plenty of new faces coming through the door, and our early-week reservations have doubled, even tripled. It’s safe to say Tomorrow’s Table is here to stay,” Sullivan said.
Those looking to take advantage of Tomorrow’s Table can walk in or reserve a table at Shawmut Inn on Sunday or Monday night. The restaurant is located at 477 Shawmut Ave.
