Driver flees after crashing into Mass. home, landing on parked cars

Brockton Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a driver they say lost control of the pickup truck they were driving and slammed into a home before landing on top of two parked cars.

Police went to 1007 Montello St. in Brockton around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning for a report of a truck crashing into property, Darren Duarte, a department spokesman, said in an e-mail. When officers arrived, they found a pickup truck on top of two parked cars.

Investigators believe the driver of the pickup truck was headed south on Montello Street when they lost control of the truck, hit a fire hydrant, crashed into the front porch at 1007 Montello St., hit the corner of the building, and then slammed into three other parked cars before coming to rest atop two of them.

The driver fled the area before police got there, Duarte said.

No injuries were reported in the crash, which remains under investigation. Brockton Fire Department assessed the building for any structural damage or hazards caused by the crash.

Police urged anyone with information about the crash or the driver’s identity to contact them.
