Driver dies after collision with tree, ejection from truck in Mass.

A man died after he was ejected from a truck that had collided with a tree in Duxbury early Saturday, according to police.

The driver, who has been identified by authorities as 49-year-old Jason Haen of Pembroke, was found at the scene of the crash on North Street around 1:15 a.m. He was outside the 2019 Ford-150 truck and appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle, the Duxbury Chief of Police Michael Carbone said in a statement.

The truck had hit a large tree on the side of the road and was heavily damaged, according to the statement.

A witness at the crash scene was performing CPR on Haen when officers arrived. Police and Duxbury Fire Department personnel continued CPR, and the Pembroke man was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, where he was pronounced dead shortly after, the statement said.

A preliminary investigation revealed Haen was alone in the truck, no other vehicles were involved and speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, according to the statement.

The collision remains under investigation by Duxbury police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
