While working at now shuttered restaurant, Sylvester’s, Jillian Duclos said she remembered how customers would travel from New York City not only to have their beloved muffins but also because Northampton kept drawing them back. Duclos said there is something special about the city, which has a community that wants others to thrive.
“Northampton has always been a leader,” said Duclos, the Downtown Northampton Association’s interim executive director. “There are things here that even in New York City sometimes you can’t find the best of and I’ve always loved that about this community.”
