Dolphins drop 70 points on Broncos in lopsided Week 3 game; Now AFC’s only undefeated team

The Dolphins never took their foot off the gas against the Broncos on Sunday and earned a 70-20 win at Hard Rock Stadium.

The 70 points Miami scored is just two shy of the NFL record set by Washington when it put up 72 against the Giants in 1966. The Dolphins had a chance to kick a field goal and set a new record, but they took a knee to end the game.

Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill once again turned in monster days for the Dolphins. The quarterback completed 23 of his 26 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns before being replaced by Mike White, who added a touchdown and 67 yards of his own.

Hill couldn’t be stopped after rushing for just 40 yards in the Dolphins’ Week 2 win over the New England Patriots. The wide receiver caught nine passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.

Miami’s offense as a whole was a force to be reckoned with. Rookie running back De’Von Achane amassed an eye-popping 233 total yards — 203 rushing — and four touchdowns, while fellow RB Raheem Mostert finished the win with 142 total yards and four touchdowns of his own.

The defense also forced three turnovers and pressured Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson 20 times.

The Dolphins now are the only undefeated team in the AFC as they shift their focus to Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.
