Dog scared of wind, its own leash needs a patient home

Imagine curling up on the couch to watch a new Netflix series as Luna’s soulful eyes look up at you. But you’ll have to be patient — if she hears a strange noise, she’ll run and hide.

“She is super gentle and sweet, and will run and hide when frightened. Her foster mom says she loves to cuddle on the couch, but sudden noises make her flee,” Dakin Humane Society wrote on her adoption profile.

Strange noises to 5-year-old labrador retriever saluki mix includes the wind and her own leash.

Still, she loves being near people, playing outside and getting petted.

She’s lived with dogs, cats and children before. Another dog in the home might help Luna’s confidence. The humane society requires her to live at a home with a fence because she is so nervous.

“Luna may overcome some of her fear, or she may always be a ‘homebody’ dog who prefers to stay in her safe space,” Dakin wrote. “If you’re happy to bring home a dog who may take a few weeks to warm up, but will be a loving, adoring companion once she does, then consider giving Luna a safe space to land.”
