No. 1 Sutton will face off against No. 6 Littleton on Friday, Nov. 21, at 7:00 p.m. for the coveted MIAA Division IV championship. The game will take place at Doyle Field in Leominster, Massachusetts, creating an exciting atmosphere for both teams and their supporters.
Sutton arrives at this title game, having just secured a 1-0 shutout victory over Cohasset in the semifinals, and with the last four championship trophies in their case. Last year, Sutton completed the four-peat with a 2-0 win over Hamilton-Wenham.
The Suzies have had an outstanding season so far, boasting a record of 18-4-0. Over their last four matches, Sutton has shown incredible defensive prowess, outscoring their opponents a remarkable 16-0. Before their win in the semis, Sutton took down Lunenberg, Manchester Essex and Sturgis West.
On the other side of the field, Littleton High School is making history by reaching the state finals for the very first time. They earned this milestone after defeating Southwick 3-1 in the semis.
Littleton has been on quite a run themselves, carrying. 16-4-1 record into the final. In their last four matches, they’ve also demonstrated scoring strength, outpacing their opponents 12-2.
