A dirt bike rider was airlifted to a Boston hospital after being were involved in a serious crash in Carver.
The rider was found “far from any paved roads” and “in a spot inaccessible by ambulance” on Thursday, Nov. 27, the Carver Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post.
The rider was taken from the scene by using the department’s UTV that is equipped to carry patients in a stokes basket for calls of this nature.
“Carver has many many miles of dirt roads and wooded areas that conventional apparatus cannot access, which is why we have UTVs and off road capable vehicles for rescues and fires,” the department wrote in the Facebook post.
The rider was brought to CFD Headquarters, where a Boston MedFlight medical helicopter transported the patient to a Boston trauma center.
No further details about the rider’s condition were provided.
