After falling behind 6-2 in the fourth inning, the WooSox started chipping away at the four-run deficit late in the game.

Ronaldo Hernandez hit a two-run home run to left in the sixth, bringing in Stephen Scott to make it a 6-4 game. Enmanuel Valdez then hit a 2-2 pitch with two outs on a line to center in the ninth inning.

His hit brought David Hamilton around to score and put the game-tying run at third.

Bobby Dalbec, though, grounded the ball to short, where Rochester’s Richie Martin tossed the ball to second basemen Luis Garcia for the final out of the game.

Yu Chang had a hit in every at-bat for Worcester, going 4-for-4 with two RBI. Shane Drohan picked up the loss, giving up six runs on nine hits and two walks over 3 2/3 innings of work.

Worcester moved to 68-55 with the loss, and will continue its series with Rochester Saturday in a 6:05 p.m. start.
