A Boston fishing vessel pulled in a body in its nets about 40 miles off the coast on Friday, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office said.
Massachusetts State Police assigned to Hayden’s office and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the fishing vessel on Friday morning. The body was wrapped in the net and in a “state of decomposition‚” Hayden’s office said in a brief statement.
The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to be autopsied.
No further information, including an identification or a cause of death, was immediately available.
