It’s been 13 years since the Bruins beat the Canucks in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. The Vancouver fans haven’t forgiven Brad Marchand. Not only is he the last remaining Bruin from that team, but his personality and playing style get under the skin of opposing teams and their fans. So they booed every time Marchand touched the puck early.

He ate it up and when he scored on the power play 5:12 into the first period on a Pastrnak assist, Marchand put his hand to his ear mocking the crowd as Boston took a 1-0 lead.

Pastrnak picked up assist No. 2, less than three minutes later when he set up Morgan Geekie to make it 2-0.

After Pastrnak set up Pavel Zacha, 1:12 into the second, Marc McLaughlin scored his first of the season with 8:11 left in the middle frame to stretch the Bruins’ edge to 4-0 ending any suspense about the result.

It did not end Pastrnak’s big night. He made it 5-0 early in the third, tucking a wrap-around goal behind Thatcher Demko.

Jeremy Swayman, who gave up eight goals on Tuesday at Winnipeg made 19 saves to earn the win. Max Sasson scored just past the midway point of the third period to end his shutout bid.
