FREEHOLD, N.J. — CopLine, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting law enforcement officers, is seeking retired police officers to volunteer for its international hotline for law enforcement officers.
The service provides confidential, 24/7 support to sworn personnel at local, state and federal levels, including both active-duty and retired officers, as well as their family members.
The hotline, which operates exclusively with retired law enforcement officers, reflects the belief that “cops understand cops” and aims to offer culturally competent mental health support through vetted professionals when needed. With a growing number of calls from hundreds of police departments across the U.S. and Canada, CopLine is in urgent need of additional volunteers.
Volunteers will be trained in active listening during a 40-hour classroom course provided at no cost. However, transportation and accommodation expenses are not covered. The next training session will take place in Irving, Texas, from November 4-8, 2024. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the CopLine website and completing a mandatory questionnaire.
