WORCESTER — On Tuesday night at Polar Park, Connelly Early turned in one of the best starts of the WooSox season, setting a new career high with 10 strikeouts and allowing one run over six innings.
Early kept Scranton/Wilkes-Barre hitters off balance all night, racking up 19 swings and misses. After giving up a pair of hits to start the game, Early shut down the RailRiders lineup through the next six innings, save for a liner to center that would have been a single had Jhostynxon Garcia not tried to make a sliding play on it; it got past the centerfielder and rolled to the track for a triple with nobody out.
