WESTFIELD – The St. Casimir Church on 38 Parkside Ave., constructed by Lithuanian immigrants, was built in 1918 and closed in 2003 when St. Peter and St. Casimir Parish merged together to become one parish in June of 2003.
Although it has since been used by the Westfield Public Schools for educational and then storage purposes, the church still retains some of its glory, most noticeably in stained glass windows and paintings, as evidenced by a walk through on Sept. 10.
