CHICOPEE — In Chicopee, residents pay taxes twice a year. A proposed ballot question could weigh whether voters want the system to change, enabling them to pay the same yearly amount, but in smaller bites that come more often.
The sitting collector notes that such a change, in doubling the number of times bills are processed, would cost the city money.
