Cape Cod elegance: LUNE delivers artful dining in Dennis Port

A sleek gem in Dennis Port, LUNE Cape Cod continues to capture the hearts and palates of diners with its refined, hyper-local tasting experience.

Located at 587 Main St. (Rte 28), the intimate venue is helmed by Chef Mick Formichella and his wife Charlotte, who returned to Cape Cod after years on the West Coast. The duo created LUNE to offer a modern upscale dining destination rooted in seasonal Cape Cod produce.

Operating Wednesday through Sunday evenings, LUNE offers two distinct culinary experiences. On Wednesday and Sunday, a la carte dining is available from 5 to 9 p.m., welcoming walk-ins while still recommending reservations.

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, diners can immerse themselves in a meticulously curated tasting menu priced at $135 per person, served in two seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A sampling from LUNE’s rotating tasting menu illustrates the restaurant’s dedication to seasonality and creativity: pea consommé with vadouvan oil and Duxbury oyster; tuna tartare with horseradish and ramp; English pea angolotti with house ricotta and nettle nage; and confit halibut with rhubarb hollandaise.

The meal rounds out with inventive desserts like grapefruit-Campari sorbet, black yuzu meringue, and a fromage blanc parfait featuring puffed quinoa and red kiwi.

Critics and guests alike have praised LUNE’s ambiance and service. The restaurant occupies a former gas station, now repurposed into an art-filled space with black-and-white tiled floors, small tables and a chef’s counter seating about six, offering diners an immersive open-kitchen experience.

The restaurant earned a semi-finalist nod in the 2025 James Beard Award’s Best New Restaurant category before ultimately withdrawing due to timing conflicts during the evaluation period.

Reservations at LUNE are competitive and typically book up three or more weeks in advance. Guests are encouraged to join the waitlist and note dietary restrictions when booking, as nearly any allergen or preference can be accommodated.
