Calif. man who secretly filmed Mass. 11-year-old while she changed clothes sentenced to prison

A California man who secretly filmed an 11-year-old Massachusetts girl while she changed clothes was sentenced to serve 16 years in prison in federal court on Tuesday, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Woodland resident Jacob Guerrero, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of sexually exploiting a child in August 2024 and one count of transportation of child pornography in May 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s office said in a press release.

Investigators began investigating Guerrero after learning of allegations that he tried to secretly record underage girls in bathrooms and changing rooms at the Wrentham Outlets, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. He was accused of going into the bathrooms and changing rooms wearing a wig and women’s clothing, then using pen cameras affixed to his shoes to record the videos.

Over the course of two weeks in 2021, Guerrero staked out the home of the victim, taking notes of times when she and her siblings showered, changed and went to bed, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. On March 17, 2021, he climbed on top of a garage attached to the victim’s home and stood outside her second-floor bedroom window to record a video of her unclothed as she changed into her pajamas. He took similar notes on the comings and goings of children residing in several other Massachusetts homes.

“Mr. Guerrero targeted young children by tracking their moves and then — even worse — violated one young girl’s privacy while she was in the safety of her own home — all for his own sexual gratification,” Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said in the release.

Investigators also discovered evidence suggesting that, in the summer of 2019, Guerrero filmed several minors — as young as eight years old — in New Jersey, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. He pleaded guilty to those offenses in May 2025.

Guerrero was arrested and charged by criminal complaint on April 14, 2022, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. Following the completion of his prison sentence, he will be subject to five years of supervised release.

“Jacob Guerrero is a deeply disturbed and dangerous man who devised a twisted plan to prey upon children, specifically to abuse and exploit them,” FBI Boston Special Agent in Charge Ted Docks said in the release. “With these hideous crimes, this predator has forfeited his right to walk among us and will be kept behind bars and away from children for quite some time.”

Members of the public who have questions, concerns or information regarding this case are advised to call 617-748-3274, the U.S. Attorney’s office said.
