HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. — The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has released body camera footage showing Hightstown police officers clearing a choking baby’s airways, News12 New Jersey reported.

One of the key recommendations is that the state police incorporate new active-shooter training “for a more coordinated response” to mass casualty incidents
The review will “provide an unbiased analysis” of the coordinated response and recommend improvements to safety measures and protocols, according to the resolution
The incident occurred on March 31, when Hightstown police responded to a call about a choking infant, according to the report,
As they arrived on the scene, Officers Kenneth Larsen and Daniel Abbatemarco performed the infant Heimlich maneuver, a critical intervention that ultimately dislodged the object from the baby’s throat, video shows,
“She’s breathing, she’s breathing…She’s OK,” an officer is heard saying on the video.
The child continued to be silent as officers flipped her over to ease her breathing.
“Let’s let out a cry, sweetheart!” one officer can be heard saying.
The relief of the parents standing nearby can be heard as the baby lets out a cry, video shows. EMS personnel then arrived on the scene, where officers described the lifesaving measures.
