DALLAS — Dallas police have released body camera footage from an incident in where officers shot a man brandishing what was later determined to be a replica handgun, KDFW reported.
The Jan. 7 incident began with six 911 calls reporting a man pointing a gun at vehicles near an elementary school, according to the report. Responding officers found the suspect aiming the gun at a person inside a car.

Body camera footage shows officers repeatedly instructing the suspect to drop the weapon in both English and Spanish. As the man continued to point the gun, two officers opened fire.
The man was struck and taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to the report.
Police later identified the weapon as a Crosman revolver CO2 air pistol, a realistic replica handgun. The suspect is facing three counts of deadly conduct, with additional charges possible. No officers were injured during the incident.
