OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Police Department has released body camera footage showing a standoff with a suspect that left an officer wounded, KFOR reported.

Elk Grove PD officers detained the man after finding him asleep in his parked car after consuming alcohol; an officer allegedly struck him with the baton after tripping over him

The Calverton Park PD employed four full-time officers and seven part-time officers to police a suburb of around 1,300 people

The South Pasadena Police Department hopes to save $4,000 per vehicle per year on fuel costs and cut down on emissions by switching to a fleet of 20 Tesla cruisers

The shootout with two robbers on a busy roadway left two bystanders dead; the officers at the scene were being fired upon and said they had no choice but to return fire

The July 2 standoff occurred when officers responded to a call about a man holding a gun to someone’s head inside a home, according to the report.

Video released on July 26 shows officers working to de-escalate the situation by coaxing the suspect away from the home. The suspect yelled to the officers that he didn’t do anything wrong but refused to come toward them.

After several minutes of attempted de-escalation, the suspect opened fire at the officers, striking one. After firing multiple shots, he retreated into the home and refused to come out.

As the standoff continued, the suspect fired dozens of rounds out of windows, continuing to shoot at officers, video shows. Negotiators tried to persuade the suspect to surrender peacefully.

After several hours during which the suspect continued to fire at officers and vehicles, an officer got a clear shot and killed the suspect, according to the report.

No other family members inside the house or surrounding neighbors were injured, according to the report. The wounded officer is continuing to recover.
