TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released body-worn camera footage of a woman attempting to scale an apartment building to escape arrest, FOX 13 reported.

The incident occurred on June 25 when deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant, according to the report. When deputies arrived on the scene, the suspect locked herself in a room and tried to escape through a second-story window.

Body camera footage shows deputies breaking through a doorway to find one woman sitting on a bed while the suspect attempted to crawl out the window. Video captured by deputies outside shows the woman hanging from the window as a deputy grabs her arm. Deputies were eventually able to pull her back in.

“To see our deputies shift from making an arrest to preserving life is commendable,” Sheriff Chad Chronister stated. “This criminal had no intention of being arrested and I couldn’t be more proud of our team for taking her into custody safely.”

The woman had felony warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in public or residential property, according to the report.
