
Civil and environmental engineering firm Fuss & O’Neill, headquartered in Manchester, Connecticut, has announced a strategic partnership with Trilon Group, a family of infrastructure consulting businesses. The partnership gives Fuss & O’Neill additional capital and resources to expand its services and markets in the Northeast.
Founded in 1924, Fuss & O’Neill provides engineering services with offices in each New England state, including one in Springfield, and New York.
Fuss & O’Neill was selected by Trilon Group to be a part of the company’s vision to build the next Top 10 design firm in North America.
Matheson Advisors in Natick initiated the transaction and served as mergers and acquisitions and financial advisor to Fuss & O’Neill.

State Sen. Ryan C. Fattman, R-Sutton, and Rep. Todd M. Smola, R-Warren, presented a check for $15,000 to Old Sturbridge Village to aid experiential learning opportunities for local school students. The funds were acquired through the 2024 fiscal year state budget.
The museum education department at Old Sturbridge Village offers several options for school visits from self-guided tours to custom, hands-on workshop experiences, to Town Hall meetings or debates.

Springfield Technical Community College donated $5,000 to Girls Inc. of the Valley, a gift that will help support the youth development organization’s teen center renovation as part of its “Her Future, Our Future” campaign.
The center is designed to get teens to think about their future by taking workshops in college and career readiness. STCC faculty and staff will also have an ongoing programmatic relationship with the center. STCC’s logo will be displayed on the center’s “Inspiration Wall” intended to remind participants about the pathways available to them through college and career.
In addition to having a Society of Women Engineers chapter, STCC has a strong female faculty presence which includes 12 full-time female faculty in the mathematics and engineering disciplines. Approximately 60% of STCC students are women.
Administrators, faculty and staff from STCC, including President John B. Cook, toured the Girls Inc. of the Valley’s new location in Holyoke in November.

The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts is seeking nominations from Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire counties for the Pynchon Award, which recognizes citizens who have rendered outstanding service to the community.
The Order of William Pynchon was established by the Advertising Club in 1915 to recognize and encourage individuals whose lives and achievements typified the ideals of promoting citizenship and the building of a better community in Western Massachusetts. Past recipients include community volunteers, social activists, teachers, journalists, public servants, business leaders, philanthropists, historians, physicians and war heroes. To nominate an individual, a letter must be submitted explaining why the nominee should be considered. Be sure to include biographical information, outstanding accomplishments, examples of service to the community, organizations he or she is or has been active in, and the names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of at least three people who can further attest to the nominee’s eligibility for induction. The Pynchon Trustees reserve the right to eliminate nominations from consideration due to insufficient information.
Qualifying nominees will be considered and researched by the trustees, composed of the current and five past presidents of the Advertising Club. Nominations must be submitted by March 31 to William Pynchon Trustees, Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts, P.O. Box 1022, West Springfield, MA 01090-1022 or by e-mail to info@adclubwm.org.
Pynchon medalists are chosen by unanimous decision of the trustees. The 2024 recipients will be announced in June with an awards ceremony tentatively scheduled for the fall.

The Bradley Regional Chamber of Commerce in East Granby, Connecticut, has announced announce a series of updates to its website. The revamped website incorporates design changes, improved navigation and enhanced functionality.
Hosting Connecticut LLC, a longtime member of Bradley Regional Chamber, was chosen to collaborate with President Daniel Hernandez and Executive Director Gina Marie Alimberti to explore the website modifications and enhancements they wanted for their existing website.
