The town of Longmeadow was presented with a Risk Management Award from the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association, the town’s insurance provider, in recognition of its commitment to workplace safety and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. The award was presented during MIIA’s annual business meeting.
MIIA’s risk management team commended the town for its participation in MIIA’s Hartford Steam Boiler Sensor Program, which helps to identify building conditions with a high probability for property loss related to water damage. Longmeadow also has an employee-led safety committee that meets quarterly to address areas of concern, and the town demonstrates a continuing commitment to Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards compliance.
