BOSTON — The NHL 4 Nations Face-Off championship game between Team USA and Team Canada features two rosters that each have representation from the Boston Bruins.
Much of the team has tuned in during the tournament to catch some of the best players from Finland, Sweden, the United States and Canada play.
“It’s great to try and learn from the best players in the world,” Brandon Carlo said Tuesday. “I’m just trying to kind of watch how the defensemen move and break out pucks and things like that. Just kind of trying to learn from it, because they’re there for a reason. It’s been a lot of fun to watch as well. Very high pace.”
Carlo, as well as Bruins coach Joe Sacco will be rooting to Team USA. The same can’t be said for David Pastrnak.
“For me, personally, I couldn’t care less who is going to win,” he said. “As a hockey fan, I enjoyed those couple games, and I will watch Thursday. But really, I don’t care who will win.”
Pastrnak’s home country of Czechia was left out of the tournament. He expressed disappointment for not being able to play. Pastrnak didn’t think he’d watch it at all, but was in attendance during Team USA’s semifinal game against Sweden on Monday.
Besides, Pastrnak is focused on ending the 2024-25 season strong.
“At the end of the day, (I’m) focused on the rest of the season,“ he said. ”We have a lot of work to do in our room here with the final 25 games coming up. So that’s where my focus is.”
