Bruins’ March misery continues as losing streak stretches to six

The slog has reached six.

The Bruins‘ epic run of futility continued on their West Coast road trip as they suffered their sixth straight defeat, 7-2 to the Kings on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Boston (30-33-9) will stay on the road to face the Ducks on Wednesday.

Elias Lindholm turned an alert pass from Cole Koepke on the rush into the first goal of the game. Koepke found him in the slot and Lindholm shifted forehand to backhand to tuck it behind Darcy Kuemper, 19 seconds into the game.

But the rest of the period belonged to the home team as the Kings tied the game just over 2 minutes later and then Warren Foegele scored with 29 seconds left in the first to make it 2-1.

The Bruins took advantage of Los Angeles’ inability to clear early in the second as Pavel Zacha set up Morgan Geekie, who snapped it by Kuemper.

But after an icing call that the Bruins disputed, the Kings won the ensuing faceoff and got the puck back to Drew Doughty. The veteran defenseman ripped a shot through traffic by Jeremy Swayman to make it 3-2 with 11:14 left in the second.

After the referees prevented Swayman and Kuemper from fighting with 5:47 left in the second period, the Kings stretched their lead to 4-2 as Andrei Kuzmenko beat him off the rush with 2:22 left until intermission.

If the game wasn’t already out of reach, the Kings added two more in the third.

Swayman made 16 saves as the Bruins gave up six or more goals for the 12th time this season,
