Add Matej Blumel to the Bruins collection of injured forwards.
The recent call-up is trying to gain a foothold in the NHL after leading the AHL in scoring last year. But after a costly giveaway in the first period, he left with a lower-body injury in the first period of Boston’s Wednesday night game against the Islanders at UBS Arena in Uniondale, N.Y.
The team announced in the second period that he would not return.
The Bruins are already missing Charlie McAvoy, Casey Mittelstadt, Viktor Arvidsson and Jordan Harris with injuries.
Blumel, who was playing in his fourth game has no points this season.
