BROOKLINE – When the Brookline Warriors and Newton North Tigers last left off, it was in last season’s state girls volleyball tournament final, where Newton North reigned victorious.
As the two sides rekindled the rivalry on Thursday, it was Brookline that took the latest installment in four sets (25-20, 11-25, 26-24, 25-20) on its home floor, knocking the defending champs off their undefeated pedestal.
