As the Lee and Granby softball teams capped their regular season off on Friday in an old-fashioned pitchers dual, Brianna Lynch and the Wildcats took care of business at home.
Lynch was once again spectacular. While she walked seven batters, she allowed zero hits and recorded 16 strikeouts to lead Lee to an impressive 1-0 win.
The outcome marked Lynch’s second no-hitter of May.
Earlier this month, the Lee ace notched her 900th career strikeout, and she’ll look to break the 1k milestone should the Wildcats make a deep run in the upcoming state postseason.
Offensively, Devyn Fillio had the game’s only RBI in the second inning to score Kayla Clark (1-for-3), while Lynch smacked a double as part of her 1-for-3 afternoon to help Lee improve its record to 10-8.
Meanwhile, opposing starting pitcher Meredith Bartosz allowed two hits, one unearned run, and struck out five as Granby moved to 12-8.
