Only one eatery in Massachusetts was named one of the top 100 restaurants in the country for 2024 by Yelp.
Yelp’s list of the top 100 U.S. restaurants for 2024 found several culinary trends including the growing popularity of Korean fusion restaurants, plant-based Mexican food and multi-colored noodles.
The list also found that spots in the Sun Belt — which comprises the southern tier of the United States — account for 30% of this year’s rankings.
However, the only Massachusetts spot on the list was Union Park Pizza in Boston, which came in at number 90.
The Back Bay pizzeria makes its dough and sauce in-house daily with organic flour and tomatoes, locally sourced herbs and vegetables as well as wine imported from Italy, according to the restaurant’s website.
Union Park Pizza’s menu features several brick oven-baked pizzas including The Neighborhood with Sausage (with ricotta, caramelized onions, and local mushrooms), The Pesto Veg (with cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, red onions, and nut-free pesto) and the Chicken Bacon Ranch (with free-range chicken, smoky confit bacon, and homemade ranch).
Yelp reviewers said the shop’s flavor combinations “were unique and delicious,” and that “everything was super fresh, and the crust was perfectly balanced.”
Union Park Pizza is located at 244 Newbury St. The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The only other New England spots named to Yelp’s list were:
- Shannon’s Unshelled (42) in Boothbay, Maine
- Maple Soul (46) in Rochester, Vermont.
