Boos, brews & barbecue unite at ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ bar in Boston

Spooky season enthusiasts can dive into the world of Tim Burton at a Halloween pop-up bar that’s at a Boston pickleball facility this month.

The Nightmare Bar, which is hosted in several cities across the country, is at PKL in South Boston until Friday, Oct. 31.

Inspired by Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” the bar tells ghost stories, hosts trivia and serves cocktails inspired by the 1993 film. Drinks include the Jack Skellington (vodka, vanilla, pumpkin liquor and ginger) and the Sally (vodka, strawberry, lemongrass, lime, framboise and yuzu).

Meanwhile, attendees can order off Pig Beach BBQ’s award-winning menu, from pulled pork mac & cheese and baby back ribs to Chef Jeff’s brisket sandwich.

Guests are also encouraged to don their best Halloween attire for a shot at winning a costume contest.

Ticket prices vary by showtime, which run several times a day Thursday through Sunday. The experience lasts 90 minutes.
