A bomb threat that was emailed to a synagogue on the South Shore prompted several evacuations and a search of the Jewish temple on Sunday, according to the Hingham Police Department.
An employee at Congregation Sha’aray Shalom, located at at 1112 Main St. (Route 228) in Hingham, got an email that warned bombs were in the synagogue around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, police said.

The Hingham Fire Department helped search the building along with explosive dogs from Quincy Police and Massachusetts State Police. No explosive devices were found, according to Hingham police.
Route 228 reopened at 3:15 p.m., police added. The incident is under investigation.
