Bill Belichick expected to sign a TV deal in coming weeks (report)

After missing out on this year’s head coaching cycle, Bill Belichick is reportedly set to land a TV gig.

According to ESPN, Belichick is “expected to sign a deal to do analysis” for Omaha Productions, the company owned by Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.

Belichick, who turned 72 earlier this week, is out of a job after parting ways with the New England Patriots earlier this year. Belichick was believed to be in the running for multiple head coach jobs this offseason, including the Atlanta Falcons, but never found a landing spot.

Now, Belichick appears to be turning his attention to media gigs for the upcoming season. Despite his famously gruff demeanor at press conferences, Belichick has drawn praise for his on-camera charisma and ability to produce engaging analysis when talking about the game of football.

Last month, Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reported that Belichick was “disinclined to be part of a regular studio show.” Instead, Belichick has thrived in other settings, such as NFL Network’s “100 Greatest Players” series, which led to Belichick winning an Emmy for his analysis.
